💡 Streetlights: Reporting, Repairs & Volunteers Needed

Wondering why getting a streetlight around here feels like solving a riddle in the dark?

Middlemore estate isn’t owned by just one developer, but several; each  patch of land belongs to someone different, which means one light could be Developer A’s job, the next Developer B’s, and another might belong to the council.  This is why when they get reported into the council things take time as Highways then have to trace the developer and ask them to fix the lighting.  To help untangle the mystery, I’ve made a coloured map showing which developer owns which bit.

Here’s how you can help:Spot a broken streetlight?
Contact me directly — I’ve got all the right developer details and can send the report to the correct place quickly. (either comment on this post or email info@middlemore.co)

Want to volunteer as a “Streetlight Spotter”?
I’m asking for a few neighbours to keep an eye on the lighting in their street. You’d just need to check occasionally and let me know if you notice any lamps are out

Update: Hidcote Way & Roundabout Lights
The first ten streetlights on Hidcote Way are still out. They are connected a bit like Christmas tree lights. When one trips, it can take the whole string down with it. So even if it looks like just a single bulb has gone, the whole section can go dark until the issue in the circuit is found and repaired. To make matters glowingly worse, all of the lights on and around the roundabout have now also failed. These are currently being investigated, I have also reported them on fix my street as I cannot see that anyone else has logged them here. I will keep chasing WNC for an update. As Hidcote Way lights have been out for some time now I appreciate everyone’s patience as this is become incredibly frustrating so much for everyone’s patience
Here is a link to the faults that I have reported https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/8269224.

I’ll keep this page updated as soon as we have news from the WNC. Kindest Karen Tweedale
